Overview
The micro:bit Go bundle is the least fussy way to start: one micro:bit V2 board plus a battery holder and USB cable, so the first lesson runs straight out of the box with no accessory hunt. The board already includes an LED matrix, two buttons, accelerometer, compass, temperature sensing, microphone and speaker, plus radio and Bluetooth — the first several lessons need no external modules at all.
Programming can use MakeCode blocks or MicroPython on the same board, which lets one lesson plan differentiate by ability: faster pupils rewrite in Python while the rest complete the same task in blocks.
The microphone and speaker added in V2 mean sound projects — noise metering, music, clap triggers — no longer need extra hardware, which is the upgrade that matters most in practice.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from the single board?
The Go bundle adds a battery holder and USB cable, which suits a first purchase. If the school already has cables and battery holders and only needs boards, the single version is better value. For a whole class at once, consider the Club pack.
Do we need to install software?
Not necessarily. MakeCode runs in a browser and flashes straight to the board. If the school network is restricted or you want offline use, a desktop version is available.
